| #1 ISSUE: Teen Drug Abuse
Parenting advice can go a long way when raising you child. Everything from good listening skills to bed-wetting to fussy eaters can be part of the journey in motherhood. So make your life easier and use the parenting resources at hand. One of the hardest parts of parenting is getting our kids to listen to us and getting them to do what we ask. Parenting advice shows that all you need to do is use a few important skills and getting your kids to listen will be much easier for you. Take a minute to think before you issue a command, for example. Be specific and your words will become more accurate and meaningful. Also, control you emotions; when you lose your temper and raise your voice, the logical result is that your child will pay closer attention to you but miss the point of your words and focus in your anger instead. You will also want to get up close and personal. Children respond much better to a parent who is facing them eye-to-eye. Sibling Rivalry Sibling rivalry has existed as long as families. Parenting advice claims that it is important to remember that siblings don't choose the family they are born into and don't choose each other. Other factors that cause sibling rivalry include position in the family, age and sex. The most important factor is parental attitude. Parents have been taught that they must be impartial but this can be extremely difficult. Some key things you can do to ease sibling rivalry is the not make comparisons, don't dismiss or suppress your children's resentment or angry feelings, try to avoid situations that promote guilt in siblings and let brothers and sisters settle their own differences.
